The River Within

Photographing the Thames from source to sea from a kayak

Come and share my journey along the Thames by kayak. With every picture taken from this small boat, you will get a unique and intimate perspective of the Thames.

From ancient and contemporary London, boats and buildings to riverbed art and misty sunrises. The familiar Thames is reframed seen from so close to the water. Even if you know the river, you’ll find something new to surprise you.

On our journey, we will explore beneath pontoons, inside tunnels, up tributaries and between houseboats. By sharing my intimate water level view, we see the changing London skyline coming into a new and sometimes startling focus.

Kayaking photography must be planned to work with the ever-changing tides, weird currents and waves created by wind blowing against the tide and wash from passing boats. Juggling these changing elements delivers constantly renewing opportunities to reveal hidden gems, as we look outwards from the River Within.

I will donate 15% of every print sale to the Westminster Boating Base, a children's charity, struggling because of a lack of income during the Coronavirus lockdown.

Imagine a beautiful large canvas print featuring London, in your home. That print having been taken from the perspective of a little kayak and so very unique.

It will be a striking addition to any room and great above your settee or above your bed.
